If you’re reading this, you’re probably asking yourself, “who is this guy, and why is he qualified to write a guidebook for anyone?” It’s a fair question!
I am not a therapist, psychologist, or expert in any other field … except procrastinating. I am an expert procrastinator. Bottom line: I’m not special. I’m just a regular guy trying to live a fulfilling life and do as much good as I can with the time I have left.
I’ve had a coaching/mentoring mentality for as long as I can remember. Whether it has been coaching baseball, Olympic weightlifting, or working with teens and peers in a mentoring capacity, I just love working with people who are motivated to improve some aspect of their life. I am continuing that work with this book, and I hope you’ll join me!
I am the oldest of four brothers, born into a military (Air Force) family. From the time I was born until I started 7th grade, I never lived in the same place for more than three years. When people ask me where I’m from, I never really know what to say. The only constant in my childhood was my immediate family. I learned how to start over, re-invent myself, and navigate new surroundings, communities, and cultures. I now live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia with my wife, Annah, and our two redbone hounds, Mattie and Jolene.
I am who I am today because of my life experiences – the good and the bad. I hope that sharing my story and the lessons I’ve learned over time will help many others build a happier, more fulfilling life for themselves.
