Reviews

“This book needs to be read! It has the potential to help a lot of young men. Tom’s writing is raw and vulnerable, dropping truth bomb after truth bomb with stunning accuracy.”

— Justin P., Dad

“This is a really important project, and tom is exactly the man for the job. He is a very strong writer whose philosophical perspective blends neatly into an accessible narrative, resulting in a profound connection with the reader.”

— Alexander M., PhD

“I bought this book for my oldest son. It arrived today with the sweetest inscription; I sat right down, read the whole thing, and put it right in his room. Full of real talk and positive messages. Thank you!”

— Nicole C., Mom

“I wish I’d had someone I looked up to lay everything out like this as I headed into high school. I even found the book helpful in navigating some current life experiences. It’s uplifting as much as it is entertaining.”

— Connor H., JD

“As a woman in my early twenties, I wasn’t sure what I would get out of this book. I found myself relating to the stories more than I could have imagined. Tom does a fantastic job of humbly sharing his perspective on all topics of life without setting it as the gold standard for how to live. I felt understood and cared for in a way that encouraged me to be confident in myself now, and who I was when I was experiencing these things for the first time.”

— Anne D.

“Tom does a marvelous job describing many of the topics and thoughts in the mind of a teenage boy in high school. ALL the topics are real and should be discussed in the parent/child relationship. It is one of the best writings on topics of adolescent boys’ growth I have read. Genuine, humble, and important.”

— Tom E., Dad

About Tom

I am a lifelong coach and mentor. From coaching my brother’s Little League baseball team, to mentoring at-risk youth in partnership with nonprofit groups, to helping athletes prepare for the national stage in Olympic weightlifting, I am inspired by people who are motivated to improve some aspect of their life.

I am not a therapist, psychologist, or expert in any other field … except procrastinating. I am an expert procrastinator. Bottom line: I’m not special. I’m just a regular guy trying to live a fulfilling life and do as much good as I can with the time I have left.
